As Per Above is a Melbourne production duo made up of Edgar Myer and Mark Chu. The pair attended the same school but only realized their musical potential after leaving, and began preliminary compositional pursuits in 2008.
Edgar’s first musical ambitions spawned from an interest in the jazz guitar, whilst Mark began his development through classical piano, having recorded as a soloist with the MSO. H
ailing from Melbourne, it is no surprise that the pair were initially introduced to electronic music through popular house music. More recently, Edgar’s tastes having matured into an appreciation for tech-house, with Mark’s being strongly grounded in trance. With slightly varied influences it is no surprise that a halfway point has been achieved with a progressive sound; a percussive texture complemented by melodic drive.
