BGR001 | Blinky - There's A Jesus In My Nectarine (Original Mix)
BIO
After a decade of classical music training, a natural progression towards producing dance music was a result of Bill Hunter’s desire to have autonomous control over the music he was aspiring to make. Beginning at such a young age has given Bill the opportunity to thoroughly learn the art of producing and through lengthy devotion to music, his natural talent has become obvious.
Now steadily becoming one of Melbourne’s most notable producers and live performers under the moniker Blinky, he has proceeded to gain a cult following with his energetic live shows. With a live act comprised of his laptop, midi controller, vocoder, synths and his signature antics, Blinky has become a feature attraction of many events including Interview, aLive, Kiss My Grass and Kill Rock Star productions
"He was the highlight of the night and if you love your electronic music I suggest you check him out" - Trashy, inthemix.com
Over the years Blinky has aided in unearthing and showcasing local talent by means of Melbourne’s Kiss FM radio station. Using his spot entitled Beat Geek 101, a weekly showcase of music Melbourne made music, Blinky has presented a blend of upcoming music producers and also shared his own unique tunes on a weekly basis.
In between playing at gigs like Earthcore Global Music Festival and Kiss My Grass and supporting international acts like Infected Mushroom, Andy Moor, Meat Katie and Martin Roth, Blinky has also found the time to run a club night in collaboration with Melbourne DJ Ben Evans, the two have experienced overwhelming acclaim with their regular Interview parties and have also had the honor of running Melbourne’s Gatecrasher 2006 party. All this on top of founding and running on of Melbourne's most exciting new record labels - BeatGeek Records.
Whether it be live, in the studio or on radio, Blinky is undeniably a working part of Melbourne’s fast paced dance music scene. Already garnering vast success with Beat Geek Records, Interview and his live performances and releases, 2010 is shaping up to be the biggest year yet for Blinky. At this stage there seems to be no end to the Blinky saga.
